BUNGE LA WANANCHI TAKES ROOT IN CENTRAL KAMAGAMBO AS GRASSROOTS VOICE GAINS MOMENTUM

RONGO, KENYA — The Chairman of the Rongo Bunge la Wananchi Caucus, Hon. Timon Omiti Jarongo, has presided over the launch and official inauguration of the Central Kamagambo Ward Bunge la Wananchi Caucus, marking another significant step in efforts to strengthen grassroots participation in governance and community development.

The inauguration is part of the broader drive to take Bunge la Wananchi closer to the people, creating platforms where residents can openly discuss issues affecting their communities, demand accountability from leaders and participate meaningfully in shaping local development priorities.

Speaking during the occasion, Hon. Omiti Jarongo emphasized that leadership should be rooted in listening to citizens, understanding their aspirations and working alongside communities to address their challenges.

He said Bunge la Wananchi is designed to empower ordinary citizens to recognize and exercise their rightful role in governance, while ensuring that every voice has an opportunity to be heard.

The establishment of the Central Kamagambo Ward caucus opens a new chapter for residents, providing a structured grassroots platform for dialogue on governance, leadership, accountability and development.

Hon. Omiti commended the Central Kamagambo Ward leadership and residents for embracing the initiative, saying their participation demonstrates a growing willingness among citizens to take ownership of issues affecting their communities.

He was joined at the event by Hon. Dorothy Otieno, Director of Special Programmes at State House; Peter Otiang'a Wuod Rongo, Ogai mar Rower Luo Council of Elders; Calvince Gaucho, Ghetto President and Board Member of Mama Lucy Kibaki Hospital, among other leaders and dignitaries.

As Bunge la Wananchi continues expanding across grassroots communities, its leadership says the focus will remain on building a stronger, united and people-centred movement that listens to citizens and places their interests at the heart of leadership and development.
