KALUMA THREATENS LEGAL ACTION: MP Gives The Standard 3 Days to Retract Alleged Homa Bay Violence Claims

Homa Bay Town MP Peter Kaluma has issued a demand letter to The Standard newspaper, accusing the publication of publishing false and defamatory allegations linking him to the violence reported during the August 16 Linda Mwananchi event in Homa Bay.

Kaluma is demanding an immediate retraction, a heartfelt apology, and an admission of liability over the allegations, which he says have damaged his reputation and falsely associated him with the reported unrest.

The legislator has given the publication three days to comply with his demands, warning that failure to do so will result in legal action.

The dispute now sets the stage for a potential legal battle between the Homa Bay MP and one of Kenya's major media houses, with the contested reporting likely to come under further scrutiny.
The allegations remain disputed, and any legal claims would be subject to determination through the appropriate legal process.
